My Hopes and Dream for Pearly Place
In 1983, my brother, Craig, gave me an Apple computer. Ever since, computer, technology and the Internet (after Al Gore created it) have drawn me deeper and deepr into their world of wonder.
Having spent quite a bit of time in the Ridhwan School as a wandering dervish or orphaned group, I have a deep passion for helping to develop resources to make the Work more accessible to students, teachers and the world. My first venture into this area involving the school was helping to bring the Diamond Dust online so groups around the world would have immediate access to it.
Then we formed a book committee to help support awareness of Hameed's books. Out of this came the creation of ahalmaas.com - the site continues to receive 8000 to 12000 visitors a month.
The idea for Pearly Place has been in my thoughts for almost 3 years - simmering. About a year ago, I started to develop it as the need it answers seemed to be growing. The continuing challenge is - time and money.
I am pleased that we have finally been able to throw more of each at this project to bring it to its current status and that the site is now functional enough for members to be able to receive real value from it.
Pearly Place is for you - us. It can become whatever we want it to be. Your voice is important. I encourage everyone to write and contribute content; to send us suggestions; and to challenge us - one and all.
