Pearly Place is a gathering place for people who have an interest in integrating their spiritual practice into everyday life.
One of the unique and significant contributions of A.H. Almaas is that of the Personal Essence and the potential for human beings to lead real, authentic lives free of the limitations and distortions of ego structure.
The Personal Essence, in contrast, is a sense of being a person independent of ego structures. It is the awareness of Presence qualified by personhood. This sense of personhood is independent of one's personal history; it is a direct recognition of a pure form of Being. This form of Being feels personal, and gives the self the capacity for immediate personal contact. - A.H. Almaas
Pearly Place is foremost a connecting point for like-minded people to connect, to develop and nurture their personal essence. Social & Business venues provide us with opportunities to embody our spiritual understanding and insights into our life in the world.
The Personal Essence has four primary characteristics: autonomy, beingness, personalness and contact. Investigating these characteristics will allow us to contrast the Personal Essence with the personality of the ego and also with the impersonal Essence or Being. - A.H. Almaas
The personal essence is often referred to as The Pearl Beyond Price, hence, the name of our gathering place.
The pearl beyond price, the incomparable pearl, the personal aspect of Essence is central for many important reasons. It is actually the true essential personality. It is the person. It is experienced as oneself. When the individual finally perceives it, the contented expression often is "but this is me!" The sense is of oneself as a precious being. There is then a fullness, a completeness, and a contentment. It is as if the individual feels full and complete, realized. Nothing is lacking. No more search, no desire or wanting anything else. The person feels "now I have myself. I am a complete individual. I am full. I am fullness. I am complete. I want nothing else." - A.H. Almaas
Though this site was created and is maintained by students of the Diamond Approach, it is not exclusive to them. Many students in the school have spouses, partners and like-minded friends not involved in the Diamond Approach, but still interested in connecting and networking in an authentic way that supports the evolution of the human spirit.
